A one year old baby was found crawling alone along a national highway in Dauis, Bohol on January 27, triggering alarm among passing motorists. Dash cam footage captured drivers slowing down and stopping their vehicles in the middle of the road to shield the child from oncoming traffic.

Several motorists positioned their cars and motorcycles around the toddler to prevent a possible collision as others rushed in to carry the child to safety. Police said the mother allegedly left the baby on the highway after her husband ignored her request to stay home for their child’s birthday. Authorities are now investigating the incident and considering possible charges against the parents. The child has since been placed in the custody of the grandfather while the investigation continues.
